Resonances and the Weinberg–Tomozawa 56-baryon –35-meson interaction. Abstract. Vector meson degrees of freedom are incorporated into the Weinberg-Tomozawa (WT) meson-baryon chiral Lagrangian by using a scheme which relies on spin–flavor SU(6) symmetry. The corresponding Bethe-Salpeter approximation successfully reproduces previous SU(3)–flavor WT results for the lowest-lying s–wave negative parity baryon resonances, and it also provides some information on the dynamics of the heavier ones. Moreover, it also predicts the existence of an isoscalar spin-parity 3 2 − K * N bound state (strangeness +1) with a mass around 1.7–1.8 GeV, unstable through K * decay. Neglecting d-wave KN decays, this state turns out to be quite narrow (Γ ≤ 15 MeV) and it might provide clear signals in reactions like γp → ¯ K 0 pK + π − by looking at the three body pK + π − invariant mass.

On baryon resonances and chiral symmetry

We study JP = (32) − baryon resonances as generated by chiral coupled-channel dynamics in the χ−BS(3) approach. Parameter-free results are obtained in terms of the Weinberg-Tomozawa term predicting the leading s-wave interaction strength of Goldstone bosons with baryon-decuplet states. In the ’heavy’ SU(3) limit with mπ = mK ∼ 500 MeV the resonances turn into bound states forming a decuplet and...

Hadronic Aspects of Exotic Baryons

In this talk I look into three different topics, addressing first the possibility that the Θ is a bound state of KπN , exploiting the results of this study to find out the contribution of two meson and one baryon components in the baryon antidecuplet and in the third place I present results on a new resonant exotic baryonic state which appears as dynamically generated by the Weinberg Tomozawa ∆...

Meson-baryon interactions and baryon resonances

Meson-baryon interactions are the fundamental building blocks to study the structures of baryon resonances and meson properties in few-body nuclear systems. We review the recent progress in the investigation of the meson-baryon interaction in the strangeness S “ ́1 sector and the structure of the Λp1405q resonance. In particular, we present an attempt to construct a realistic KN-πΣ interaction i...

Meson and Baryon resonances

In this talk I review recent advances on the structure of the meson and baryon resonances which can be dynamically generated from the interaction of mesons or mesons and baryons. Particular emphasis is put on results involving vector mesons, which bring new light into the nature of some of the observed higher mass mesons and baryons and make predictions for new states.

More kaonic bound states and a comprehensive interpretation of the DsJ states

The leading order interaction between a Goldstone boson and a matter field is universally dominated by the Weinberg-Tomozawa term. Based on this observation, we predict a rich spectrum of bound states of a kaon and a heavy meson. We argue that, if the lifetime of an excited heavy meson is significantly longer than the range of forces, then the finite width of that state can be neglected in a fi...
